I never thought I would have anything to do with art or music. I don't know any one in our family that would ever consider art as a career. I always thought art was something you had to be born with. The last art class I remember in my Catholic school was making something out of a piece of wire. I must have been in 5th grade but I rmemeber it as clear as day. I came home with my first D, totally humiliated and agreeing with my family lthat we weren't "art people".

Though my favorite actiivites as a youth were doing things with my hands. Never painting or drawing, mine looked like sticks, but decopage, paint by numbers, and then sand art. Being an ocean lover I took to sand art as a fish in the water. I attended several shows and sold to people at a nearby flower store. I wish I had that nerve now..

Then real life happened, I graduated with a BS in Psychology, and then went on to get a Masaters in Library and INformatoin Science.
